Lucero and AJ...
...are not an ordinary couple. They are much more than just “ordinary.” Extraordinary, then? Why would they even be “extra-ordinary...?”
Lucero and AJ are way more than that! So, of course, when they came to me for moody imagery that teetered on the side of seduction and elegance, I smiled. “Don’t worry,” I said. “We’ll have some fun.”
The three of us first corresponded via email, then phone, and finally in person. As a couple, their main goal of hiring me was to capture their San Diego elopement through a series of portraits that looked film noir, classy, and a bit edgy. This made sense when I finally met them in person: I saw a good-looking couple full of passion, fun, and adventure. They wanted one-of-a-kind portraits that stood out from the ordinary San Diego beach vibe aesthetic. Of course, I love this type of aesthetic as well; but, as with any good professional photographer in San Diego, what my clients want, they get.
We shot at the San Diego Central Public Library, followed by the Grant Hotel, both located downtown. The ambience of both venues was amazing. So much beautiful, natural light at the library; followed by a dark, intimate setting with live music at the Grant hotel. Lucero, AJ and I had such an amazing time.
Again, many thanks to the employees at the venue for allowing us to shoot; and, more importantly, so many thanks to this beautiful couple for trusting me to capture their elopement through the following moody portraits.
