Lubbock Photographer...

from San Diego. Several months have passed since I packed up my belongings and road-tripped from the West Coast to West Texas. The scenes are different, for sure; I've traded beautiful ocean sunsets for moody desert sunrises. This is Texas Tech country; or, how Lubbockites like to call it, Raiderland. Lubbock is home to 41,000 Texas Tech Red Raiders, significantly contributing to a good portion of Lubbock's population.

A former alumnus of the university and a Red Raider myself, I decided to move back to Lubbock to complete another degree from here. It's been fun so far: juggling school priorities with photographic endeavors. I just completed my first semester at Tech and finally have some time to dedicate to the administrative side of photography.

The following is a series I did a few weeks ago of beautiful Texas model, Jillian Lyle. We had conversed several months ago (even before I left San Diego), and were finally able to get together and execute a night photography session at her studio. I used gel filters for added charm and aesthetic. We shot these in downtown Lubbock, where cobble streets still reside and serve as a time capsule of a time that once was. The moon was full and bright that night. And Jillian's angel wings were the perfect topper for this beautiful, one-of-a-kind vintage look. What do you all think?
